At Higgins Gundogs, our goal is to give you the tools, knowledge and confidence to train and handle your hunting dog yourself. Through one on one training sessions, our program is designed to produce a well mannered hunting partner that, through minimal pressure or correction, has maintained all his natural style, desire and birdiness.
Our method is based on dog psychology or the study of dog behavior. We show you how to communicate with your dog in a gentle yet effective way that he understands without unnecessary verbal commands or pressure.
We can show you how easy it is to have a dog that is staunch in the field or finished, steady to flush, shot and fall. In addition, our force fetch program is low pressure and creates a dog that loves to retrieve.
Working with problem dogs is our specialty. We take the time to work with you and your dog to understand how the problem was created and how best to help him get back on track.
